오션파크로 떠나는 즐거운 여행에 필요한 모든 것
Water World Ocean Park has made history today on the Dragon Boat Festival as the first Hong Kong host for the internationally acclaimed World's Largest Swimming Lesson™ (WLSL)!
The 14th annual WLSL also marked the start of peak swim season in the city this year and Water World's aquatic team was determined to make it a splash-tacular success! They led a special swimming class for close to 300 adventurers at Horizon Cove, completed with interactive moments that had everyone splashing for joy. From mastering basic swimming techniques to learning practical water self-rescue skills, participants were empowered with life-saving water safety know-how.
Organised by the World Waterpark Association, the epic annual event aims to raise awareness about the importance of teaching children to swim and prevent drowning — a public health concern and the third leading cause of unintentional injury death worldwide, according to the World Health Organisation’s estimation.
The 2023 WLSL is taking place in 18 countries on six continents over the course of 24 hours on 22 June. More than 600 water parks, aquatic centres and swim schools are hosting the life-saving lesson today, providing more than 20,000 hours of water safety training to kids and families in a single day.
