This summer, Ocean Park turns absolutely Jurassic with new high-tech animatronics. We are very happy to partner with Japan’s Sanrio Group’s Kokoro Company Limited for our MANHATTAN Credit Card Presents: Empire of the Dinosaurs at Tai Shue Wan. Kokoro is the world leader in “Mechatro-art”, a technology that brought us the most life-like dinosaurs this summer. At our Lowland’s Ha Ha Factory, we’re partnering with another international entertainment stalwart – Twentieth Century Fox – to bring to our guests all the adventures that befall the leading characters of Ice Age 3 Dawn of the Dinosaurs Live. Unlimited arrays of wet ‘n wild games are, of course, signature staples to Ocean Park’s summer event, as well as
ed-venturous moments at the Junior Dino Academy. At MANHATTAN Credit Card Presents: Empire of the Dinosaurs, guests can walk with the dinosaurs and experience life on earth over 65 million years ago. Over 20 ferocious-looking dinosaurs, no matter herbivorous or carnivorous, fearsome or gentle, will prowl and growl with might. Of all these high-tech dinosaurs, the Tyrannosaurus (T-Rex) absolutely rules the pack by its sheer size alone – standing four metres tall! Guests will come face to face with familiar and new dinosaur names, including: the highly-protective Triceratops which will fiercely shield its young ones from danger, even T-Rex, so guests need to tread very carefully; widely known as the smartest dinosaur, the Velociraptors are quick and nimble due to their relatively small size, but their sight is sharp as an eagle and they love to surprise attack anything and anyone; extra brave guests can attempt to escape boiling lava while being wary of attacks by Wuerhosaurus, and can even interact with the notorious carnivore, T-Rex, by the ancient temple and see if they can come out alive!
For kidults dreaming to get super wet n’ wild, they must take the plunge at the spectacular Stone Age Water World, also at Tai Shue Wan Plaza. A “can’t miss” is the sculpture of Whiskers, Ocean Park’s chief mascot, who will be clad in a Stone Age costume and eager to take photos with all guests. Excitement will surely unfold at the Bucket War, where guests can get soaking wet to prepare for the next water battle; the Dino Foam Party, surely the next ‘battlefield’ for kidults and children alike; and the Prehistoric Wet ‘n Wild Playground will keep guests splashing at all angles for joy as they play and cool off under the hot summer sun. Beware of the three active volcanoes aside – they will explode with water splashes without any notice at all!
Also ensconced in Tai Shue Wan Plaza is Wonders of Ancient Times. Why did the dinosaurs go extinct? What does the body structure of a dinosaur look like? Kids can be a Indiana Jones Jr. for a day as they hunt and dig for ancient dinosaur fossil bones. Taking edutainment up a notch, there will also be educational touch screens, interactive games and Q&A panels, allowing kids to discover and learn more about these fascinating, gigantic and extinct animals.
Over at Whiskers Harbour at the Lowland, kids can let their imagination soar while creating their own prehistoric-themed crafts, such as a fancy dino hat at the Junior Dino Academy.
Meanwhile, Ha Ha Factory will host the international mega summer hit movie using true 3D technology, with the star cast of Ice Age 3 Dawn of the Dinosaurs Live .Together with these characters that accidentally landed in the dinosaur world, guests can embark on an exciting adventure and even help the clumsy Scrat to escape from danger! Guests can also make a wonderful reminder of their adventure by taking photos with these prehistoric Hollywood stars.
Park-wide, guests will be immersed and feel they are really in the incredibly fascinating and thrilling dinosaur era as the Park will be decked out in Prehistoric décor, cavemen art and even realistic dinosaur models. It will truly be an indelible Prehistoric experience! Guests can also revel in the Hot n’ Wild Party and Tropical Parade, or ooh and ahh at everything from dinosaur models to cavemen art.
