4 December 2006, Hong Kong: Celebrate an icy, snowy white Christmas at Ocean Park this year with a visit from Eskimos, a spectacular performance on ice, and holiday performances by different community choral groups and a local band. It’ll be an unforgettable treat for you and everyone you love, don’t miss out on the festivities of Ocean Park’s Christmas Sensation.
Immerse yourself in arctic delights this year and get a taste of Eskimo life in Hong Kong’s first ever Eskimo village – Eskimo Escapade! The fun on this native playground includes an ice slide and ice fishing. You can dance to the bouncy beat of Eskimo percussions and then don a parka by the igloo for an unforgettable photo opportunity. Kids can join the Eskimo Academy to learn the Eskimo culture. This includes arts and crafts, for a fun way to make Christmas cards and thoughtful gifts for your loved ones.
This year, Ocean Park has secured an eclectic group of World Class ice skaters to show off their moves, but this time it reaches truly grandiose proportions. For the most discriminating viewer who wants more than beautiful and jaw-dropping acrobatic displays, the skaters will perform magical illusions on the ice this year! How will they do it? You may come see the confounding ice wizards at Spellbound on Ice for yourself, but they’ll never reveal their secrets.
Of course, no Christmas celebration is complete without the lighting of the Christmas tree, and Ocean Park’s majestic 40-foot Christmas tree is simply spectacular. Join us for our daily countdown to the Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony, as school choirs and the band perform everyone’s favorite Christmas tunes. You can also take a picture with the lovely elves inside the crystal-clear Snow Globe.
Santa Claus is coming to town as well, because he wants to hear your holiday wishes at his merrily decorated Santa’s House. He knows if you’ve been bad or good, so be good for goodness’ sake. Then be dazzled in your night-time strolls, as a string of mesmerizing color-changing lights and special effects glow across the park. Performers will provide entertainment for the whole family, dressed up as fun gigantic Christmas characters of gift boxes and trinkets.
And kids won’t run out of activities, because there’s a multitude of games and adventures around the park, including the Amazing Maze, Sponge Cannon, and the Bouncer’s Challenge. So if you’re dreaming of a white Christmas, just like the ones you used to know, Hong Kong’s biggest snow maker will be back in action, to make the tree tops glisten.
“The annual Ocean Park Christmas Sensation is one of the most popular events at Ocean Park,” said Allan Zeman, Chairman of Ocean Park. “The dedicated programme team is committed to bring you fun and the best entertainment during Christmas.”
Additionally, Ocean Park is again a corporate sponsor of Operation Santa Claus and welcomes beneficiary organizations of the Operation to visit the Park during Ocean Park Christmas Sensation.
Ocean Park Christmas Sensation begins on December 16, 2006 and continues through January 1, 2006, with daily openings from 10am to 8pm. Admissions are HK$185 for adults and HK$93 for children (3-11 years of age).
In addition, Ocean Park proudly presents the special edition Coca-Cola cans to celebrate its 30th anniversary. During December, a special Coke can pull-ring promotion will be carried out and Ocean Park will be giving away Ocean Park “Life Pass” to the luckiest ones, among other goodies.
