Step into Panda Wonders: An Illuminated Journey during the Chinese New Year to experience captivating interactive installations and stunning visual effects! This immersive experience features the Park’s collaboration with two innovative Hong Kong creative companies, vfxNova and MateZ Lab, adding an artistic touch to the Ocean Park Wondrous Winter Gala and Giant Panda Celebration.
Visitors can get up close with Hong Kong’s new giant pandas, An An and Ke Ke, at the Panda FunSnap interactive photo zone, where they will interact with AR pandas and capture unforgettable moments with friends and family. This amazing experience comes to life thanks to vfxNova, founded by Victor Wong, an industry-renowned visual effects director. The company is celebrated for their award-winning expertise in visual effects and recognised by prestigious international design accolades such as The New York Festival Awards, Tokyo JIAA Advertising Awards, Hong Kong Film Awards, The Golden Horse Awards, etc.
In addition, visitors can immerse themselves in the enchanting Blossom Flowerscape, where giant panda Le Le enjoys his bamboo amidst vibrant, interactive projection scenes, and be mesmerised by the breathtaking Bamboo Oasis, where giant panda Ying Ying makes a stunning appearance through 3D projection technology. The immersive, true-to-life experiences are developed by MateZ Lab, a creative hub acknowledged for delivering innovative experiences that merge technology with art. The MateZ Lab team has received accolades including the China Brand Marketing Awards and the Alighting Awards.
Other than partnering with vfxNova and MateZ Lab to craft an exceptional journey that blends innovation, artistry and the charm of pandas, Ocean Park is also excited to introduce its new IP, which features six adorable giant panda cartoon characters.
Each character mirrors their real-life counterparts, showcasing unique traits and personalities that range from playful to gentle. By integrating these beloved characters into Panda Wonders: An Illuminated Journey, the Park enriches the attraction, fostering a stronger emotional connection with visitors. This initiative not only enhances the interactive experience but also promotes the characters in a way that engages guests of all ages.
Seahorse Rangers support conservation of giant pandas with creativity
Ocean Park also invites visitors to explore the Seahorse Rangers Cultural & Creative Conservation Market to be held at the lower park on 11 January 2025, a meaningful event connecting conservation, creativity, and community. Featuring over 30 booths, this unique market showcases handmade, giant panda and Sichuan ecology-themed products created by the talented Seahorse Rangers – students dedicated to raising awareness about conservation.
All proceeds from the market will go towards Ocean Park Corporation for giant panda conservation, helping to safeguard these iconic animals for future generations.
