(14 March, 2007 – Hong Kong) The Leisure and Cultural Services Department presented to Ocean Park the “Gold Award for Outstanding Exhibit – Landscape Display,” for the Park’s topiary entry at the Hong Kong Flower Show 2008. Mrs. Selina Tsang, wife of the Chief Executive of the HKSAR, the officiating guest at today’s opening ceremony, is seen here in the photo with Ocean Park’s representatives in front of the display.
Ocean Park’s entry showcases the wonders of nature as represented by the Park’s animal ambassador icons, while embracing the coming of the Beijing Olympics with a “green” centerpiece. More than 3,000 colourful plants of 30 different species, including Begonia, Purslane, Gerbera, Violet, Pansy, Petunia, Geranium, Balsam and the Cleome Flower, were used for the topiary creations.
