Toco toucans are the largest toucans in the world. Their large beaks make up one-third of their total body length.
Toco toucans mainly feed on fruits consisting of about 100 species. Many of these are seasonal fruits. To maintain their food supply, they have to travel from one region to another.

Toco toucans are captured by humans for pets. Some local people may also hunt them for food. Deforestation threatens toco toucans as they live up in the canopy feeding on fruits.
