(Hong Kong – 30 August 2007) Brace yourselves for the biggest, scariest themed party of the year, at the seventh annual Ocean PArk Halloween Bash, which takes place every Friday, Saturday and Public Holiday starting 28 September. With more than 250 ghosts, zombies, and dancing corpses running amok, seven all-new haunted attractions, 10 stage shows with 40 daily performances, and 40 Halloween attractions in addition to the Park’s regular offerings, Ocean Park Halloween Bash is raising the bar to unprecedented heights in terms of thrills, scares, production scale, and value for money.
For the first time ever, curious guests can go on Behind-the-Scenes Tours at two haunted attractions, Dementia and The Last Stop, for a glimpse into the fascinating world of special effects, animatronics, and costume creation of a blockbuster Halloween party. Lasting from 5:30pm to 12 midnight, Ocean Park Halloween Bash can be experienced through a variety of ticket types and admission packages such as the Privilege Dinner Combo*, which includes Scary Dinner at Captain’s Table or Bayview Restaurant, and unlimited fast-track access to all haunted attractions. Admission tickets will be available at the Park’s entrances, at 7-Eleven stores in MTR stations, along KCRC Ma On Shan Rail, East Rail, and West Rail Stations, and online at www.oceanpark.com.hk., and www.halloweenbash.com.hk., from 31 August.
“Ocean Park was the first to bring Halloween entertainment to Hong Kong seven years ago, and I’m proud to say that Ocean Park Halloween Bash is now one of the largest and most highly-attended Halloween events in the world. A record high of more than 500,000 guests ventured through our gates for our last Halloween event, and we look forward to totally wowing our guests this year,” said Dr. Allan Zeman, Chairman of Ocean Park.
“Ocean Park Halloween Bash is undoubtedly the annual highlight for us,” Dr, Zeman added, “In addition to 250 roving cast characters at our street haunts, members of our senior management can’t help but join in on the fun, so don’t be surprised if you run into one of us dressed up as a werewolf or Count Dracula at any given night!”
Come night fall, the Park will be transformed into a living, breathing homage to the spine-chilling characters from the netherworld, ancient ghost stories, and time-honoured tales of Halloween folklore. Following the successful introduction of Chinese themes at previous instalments of Ocean Park Halloween Bash, Ocean Park is recreating authentic, haunted Chinese attractions with Chung Kwai’s Ghost Gourd and The Last Stop, which presents an eerie funeral procession into the world of the afterlife. And for the first time ever, the iconic Raging River thrill ride will receive a full Halloween makeover and transform into a Haunted Ghost Town of the wicked Old West. The world’s first interactive face-changing performance, Faces of Fright, will also feature nightly with back-to-back Fire Shows at SkyFair Plaza. Further hair-raising thrills and experiences await at Ghost Cruise, Dementia, Mad Doctor’s Bizarre Lab – presented by BLUE GIRL IMPORTED PREMIUM BEER, and the high-octane, adrenaline-packed Prison Riot – presented by Fairwood. And for the little ones, the Kids’ World “Peek-a-boo!” Spooky Maze – presented by Sugus will be choc full of tricks and surprises!
“We brought Halloween to Hong Kong in 2001, and we hear what people want. When we first launched Ocean Park Halloween Bash, we were cautious about adopting Chinese themes. But times and people’s acceptance have changed, and this year we’re introducing bigger, better Chinese ghost stories, along with fresh takes on Western Halloween favourites, and a few references to contemporary pop culture, to offer an experience that is entertaining, unique to Ocean Park, and relevant to guests of all ages from around the world,” said Dr. Zeman.
“Where else can you experience seven world-class haunted attractions, catch over 40 live shows, party with 250 scary monsters, go on dozens of thrill rides, and visit real animals in one go? During the day, kids will absolutely love the Halloween Programmes at Kids’ World, and at night, kids-at-heart are just a few minutes’ ride from the fantastic nightlife this city has to offer. It’s the perfect party package!”
Ocean Park and 3HK will also launch a special Ocean Park Halloween Bash portal on 15 September for all 3HK subscribers. Upon registration, subscribers can play mobile games such as tracking Ocean Park Halloween Bash characters all over town, and other horrific online games.
What are you waiting for? Join us at the biggest, scariest event of the year at Ocean Park Halloween Bash – and don’t keep our resident Queen of Fright Miss Luna Midnyte, Mad Doctor, Chung Kwai, and his entourage waiting because you definitely don’t want these freaky characters coming after you!
On Ocean Park Halloween Bash nights, the Citybus Route 888 free shuttle service between the Main Entrance and Tai Shue Wan Entrance will run till 12 midnight, and the Citybus Route 629 service to Admiralty will run till the last guest is ready to go home.
